Newcastle Marine Services is a specialist marine engineering consultancy focused on innovation, sustainability, and cutting-edge offshore design. From their base in Newcastle upon Tyne, they support the global maritime industry with a wide range of services — from naval architecture and vessel retrofitting to renewable energy research and advanced marine software. When they partnered with White Room, they needed more than just a website. They wanted a digital platform that could showcase their expertise, support their ambitious R&D projects, and communicate their commitment to driving sustainable change in the maritime sector.
Our challenge was to communicate the depth and complexity of Newcastle Marine Services’ work through a digital platform that would remain accessible, modern, and engaging. We worked closely with their team to map out a content strategy that could reflect the company’s wide-ranging capabilities — from advanced naval architecture and offshore vessel support to cutting-edge R&D projects in green propulsion and hydrogen fuel systems. The result is a clean, scalable website built to support multiple audiences, including commercial partners, research institutions, and potential clients. Each section of the site was designed to highlight NMS’s technical authority while telling the story of their forward-thinking approach to marine sustainability. Their proprietary ship stability software, CyberMaster™3D, was given a dedicated space, complete with interactive documentation and module breakdowns. We also developed a robust framework for their expanding portfolio of research projects, helping to communicate technical insights in a clear, structured format.
But the project extended beyond digital design. We supported Newcastle Marine Services with foundational marketing consultation and content architecture that positioned them for future growth in both the commercial and academic sectors. Our focus was on clarity, usability, and professional credibility — ensuring that potential collaborators and clients could find what they needed quickly, whether browsing services or exploring case studies. Since launch, the platform has become a central point of engagement for their partners and has enabled NMS to better present their capabilities in grant applications, project tenders, and high-level meetings.
